In TWOM, you are a civilian whose country is immersed in a brutal war. I believe it is meant to resemble Sarajevo. As with all wars, chaos abounds, resources are limited and you must make critical life or death decisions. You have the ability to scavenge, trade, build and kill to survive. The most incredible aspect of TWOM is how realistic it is. If you dont obtain medicine, your character will fall ill and gradually die. If you focus too much on medicine, your character wont scavenge enough food and he or she will become too weak to be of use. If you focus on food, youll never procure weapons to defend yourself. Many reviewers complain that TWOM is too difficult. I imagine these must be kids who want to build futuristic weapons and upgrade their characters. To do so would ruin the fundamental beauty of this masterpiece, which is to simply survive. Sometimes you have to sleep all day if youre exhausted, which is boring. But thats life. Thats TWOM. The developers shouldnt have to apologize for that. This game is like no other and its not for everybody. In fact, Id say this is one of the few games wholly geared towards adults. There is even somewhat muted rape scene which is genuinely horrifying. Kudos on this one-of-a-kind experience. Its really very special.
